Hottest Elise on charge

Modified Elise SC is the fastest car the company has ever built

Lotus Elise SC

31st October 2007

This is the most powerful Elise Lotus has ever built. Called the SC, it has a 217bhp 1.8-litre supercharged engine and can sprint from 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds. Top speed is 150mph.

The powerplant is a modified version of the Exige S’s unit, and features a smaller supercharger and no intercooler. These changes allow better packaging and an uninterrupted view out of the rear window. On sale in January, the SC will cost £32,550.

Lotus has also launched a performance pack for the Exige S. Priced £3,000, it boosts the power output by 20bhp to 237bhp.
