Could this be the most gorgeous car in Geneva? The stunning Alfa Romeo 8C Spider made its public debut at this year’s show, and company bosses immediately opened the order book for the amazing two-seater.

However, you’ll have to be fast and rich to get on it. Like its fixed head version, Alfa Romeo will build only 500 Spiders, so it won’t take long to sell out. And its £135,000 price tag isn’t likely to put off the well-heeled collectors expected to buy it.

Power is from the same 450bhp 4.7-litre V8 engine used by the tin-top Competizione and it drives through a robotised six-speed manual gearbox. The two-layer fabric hood is full automated and works at the touch of a button. It has been designed to look good when it’s up, as well as down, and is available in a wide range of colours
