Suzuki's Mondeo is getting in shape

Watch out Mondeo – Suzuki’s new family car is coming! Our spies have caught the four-door model track testing in Germany. Called the Kizashi, it was initially revealed at the New York Motor Show earlier this year as a dramatic concept car. And the lack of disguise on this prototype shows that the production version keeps most of its styling cues.

Engine details have yet to be confirmed, but there will be a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol unit and a range of diesels. There are also rumours that the flagship will get four-wheel drive and a 300bhp 3.6-litre V6.

The Kizashi is likely to be built at Suzuki’s Indian plant in Delhi before being shipped around the world.
