It's 25 years since Saab first launched its Convertible and to mark the occasion the Swedish car maker is bringing out a Special Edition version of the 9-3. Debuting at next week's Los Angeles Motor Show, the new Saab Convertible will be displayed in a unique bright champagne metallic colour to draw attention from the American public.
The original convertible when it came out sold itself as the first soft-top which was practical for all four seasons, had four-seats and was stylish.
The special edition 9-3 will be available in three metallic colors when it comes out, a Jet Black, Carbon Grey and the new Bright Champagne. And under the bonnet it will feature Saab's signature 2.0-litre, 210 bhp four-cylinder engine.
The front bumper, steering wheel and carbon fiber interior finishes are influenced by the Turbo X performance model. And like the Aero version, the rear has dual exhaust pipes and a five-spoke, 17-inch alloy wheels.
The Saab 9-3 2.0T Special Edition Convertible is expected to arrive in showrooms from early 2009.
