Baby Chico’s on song

It's Chico time at VW! Auto Express has learned that the firm is planning to extend the up! range with a two-seater Smart ForTwo rival. And it could carry the same name as VW’s 1991 city car concept – Chico. Packing a similar layout to the Smart but with underpinnings from the up! (left) and a choice of 1.2-litre petrol or diesel engines, it could return as much as 140mpg. While the up! hits showrooms in 2010, the entry-level Chico could go on sale in the UK in 2011.
