Welcome to 2009's most glamorous! From Audi to Rolls, Lamborghini to Bugatti, there will be no shortage of choice for the world's most affluent car buyers over the coming year.

And lets not forget the new Aston Martin One-77. Not only will this be the most powerful, most exclusive model the car maker has ever made, it also promises to be one of the most expensive too, with a price tage tipping the scales at a staggering £1.2million.

And if that's not enough for you, what about Bugatti's targa topped Super Sport. Already the world's fastest open topped car, it looks set to be the planet's most expensive too. The first model off the production line has already been sold... For a staggering £2.2million.

Rolls Royce RR4   Aston Martin Rapide   Lambo Gallardo Spyder   Audi R8 TDI
1. Rolls Royce RR4

Aston Martin is building what could be its greatest model yet – a hardcore Vantage. The standard car’s 4.3-litre V8 is set to be replaced by the 6.0 V12 used by the DB9 and DBS, with power upgraded to a huge 550bhp. Anybody who forks out the £150,000 to buy one though will definitely be shaken and stirred!

Buy it: May 2009

2. Aston Martin Rapide

The four-door Rapide is ready to break the mould. It’s based on the DB9, and is a real looker. Power comes from the DBS’s V12, and engineers are trying to generate more torque. A price of around £150,000 places the Rapide above its Maserati Quattroporte and Porsche Panamera rivals, but below Lamborghini’s Estoque.

Buy it: November 2009

3. Lambo Gallardo Spyder

Drop-top version of fantastic LP560-4 has roof that folds in 20 seconds. It has a 552bhp V10, which provides 0-62mph in four seconds – that’s only three-tenths down on the coupé.

Buy it: April 2009

4. Audi R8 TDI

When we drove it in April, the R8 TDI blew us away with its 500bhp V12 engine’s huge 1,000Nm torque output. A 0-62mph sprint time of 4.2 seconds and 200mph top speed ensure it will outperform the V8 version of the Audi. With a price of around £100,000, it’s not cheap, but it’s certainly spectacular.

Buy it: September 2009

Audi R8 V10   Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport   Aston Martin One-77   Maserati GT roadster

A 528bhp V10 R8 will appear before the TDI. It covers 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds, hits 196mph and does a similar 20.6mpg to the regular V8. Prices start from £99,575.

Buy it: August 2009

6. Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport

The world’s fastest car is about to get even more exclusive! Two special Bugattis were launched in 2008 – but in 2009, the firm will cause a stir with the new targa-topped Grand Sport. The first example has been sold at auction... for .9million.

Buy it: March 2009

7. Aston Martin One-77

The third new Aston due in 2009 will be the wildest yet. It offers a 700bhp V12 and a carbon fibre body, plus huge scope for personalisation – and costs £1.2million.

8. Maserati GT roadster

The GranTurismo was crying out to be made into a soft-top. It’s set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, with power from the Coupé’s V8. A price tag of at least £85,000 is expected.

Buy it: March 2009
