An auto-dimming rear view mirror is essential if you don’t want to be dazzled by the headlights of cars behind you. Not all vehicles have the devices as standard – but now, you can add it to any car with this clip-on AlphaMirror.
The unit is strapped on to your existing mirror, taking the place of the glass face. It took us a matter of minutes to secure, although you need to pay attention to the straps as one came loose during our test. While it’s simple to fit, you should make sure the AlphaMirror is suitable for your vehicle – in one test car it prevented the sun visors flipping down.
The point of the device is that you shouldn’t notice it working, and it did the job without fuss. For the duration of our test we weren’t dazzled by a following car, and only occasionally did we notice a flicker as the unit changed between shaded and normal modes. It’s a great retro-fit addition.
