A disguised production model of Mini’s upcoming small SUV, the Crossman, has been spotted in testing. Sporting a high ride-height and four-wheel drive the Crossman represents a step into unknown territory for the Mini brand.
Mini hopes that the beefy looking off-roader will appeal to people who want something a little more masculine than current models. Sources have claimed that the Crossman will also be available in front-wheel drive, offering the same high suspension but a lower price tag and improved fuel efficiency.
There are no solid details on powertrains but 1.6-litre turbo petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines are expected alongside a high performance JCW version of the Crossman.
Prices are yet to be announced but will be confirmed when the car goes on sale next spring.
