It’s the return of Alfa Romeo’s legendary GTA performance badge! Reports suggest that the Italian manufacturer will be showcasing a two-seat coupe concept at the
Geneva Motor Show that will wear the GTA badge last seen on the firm’s 147 and 156 models.
The hottest versions of recent Alfa Romeos, including the MiTo and Giulietta have been marked out by the firm’s Quadrofoglio four-leaf clover badge.
Thought to be called the 4C GTA, it’s likely the newcomer will be powered by a four-cylinder 1750 TBi petrol engine – unlike the 8-cylinder unit in the 8C Competizione – with a total power output of around 260bhp.
Expect to see a look inspired by the 8C and the 2uettotanta concept car unveiled at last year’s Geneva Motor Show.
Performance should be impressive too, with acceleration from 0-62mph taking around six seconds and the KTM’s stiff chassis providing agile handling.
For the moment, the 4C GTA is only a concept but expect to see a production version on the roads by 2013.
