New Entry-level Engine For Saab

Saab'S 9-3 is now more affordable, thanks to the addition of a naturally aspirated 1.8-litre engine.

Prices start at ΂£16,995 for the entry-level car. The Linear is ΂£1,000 extra, and the luxurious Arc and Vector a further ΂£2,000 each.

With 122bhp, the 1.8i goes from 0-60mph in 11.1 seconds and returns 35.8mpg. The powerplant has been set up for flexible driving, with 90 per cent of the 167Nm of torque available at less than 2,400rpm.
