Cheapest cars to run - Peugeot 107 1.0 Access: total cost of ownership: £8,805.31

Peugeot’s 107 has been replaced by the 108 but there will still be new models about in the dealer network. Despite its age, the Peugeot still stands up to scrutiny with its simple funky design and tough build quality counting in its favour.

Total cost of ownership (3-years, 36,000 miles): £8,854.32
Monthly running costs: £245.95
Cost per mile: 25p

I've never really understood how they can say how much a newly introduced model will be worth in 3 years time. After all, the market could have changed by then, with new competitors etc. Fair enough if the model concerned has been on the market for a while and they KNOW it holds its value, but this is just speculation. There are plenty of examples where new models have failed to meet these expectations.
