CarPlan Triplewax Car Shampoo
Price £4.99
CarPlan 0161 7645981

Branded as the number one, we would have to agree, as this is a return to the top spot for Triplewax in our car wash test. And it is the wax element which impressed us, sheeting off water after the soap had been rinsed away, leaving only spots of moisture for the leather to soak up. Its beading was matched by Sonax, but the CarPlan shampoo costs 15p a bucket. That’s before you consider promo packs such as our sample, which offered 100 per cent extra free, making it even more cost effective. Still, great performance from a returning champion.
Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner
Price £7.99
Premier league firm Autoglym has really got its car wash right, as it has delivered consistently good results in the past. It left little work for the leather, as it beaded water as soon as the rinsing stopped. And you don’t use much, as each wash costs only 16p from this 1.0-litre pack.

Sonax Wash & Wax
Price £4.15
A Top performance from German producer Sonax, which was a match
for our champion when it came to shifting water, and kept drying time to a minimum. Only price denied it the top spot, with each wash costing more than double either of its rivals here.
