Rolls-Royce has released a single sketch of the Bespoke Waterspeed Collection, a special edition designed to celebrate ‘British endeavor’. Only 35 special edition Phantom Drophead Coupes will be produced.
The sketch reveals the Waterspeed Collection finished in a bespoke Maggiore Blue paint, with a brushed aluminum deck, two-tone alloy wheels and handcrafted wood inlays. The special edition has been inspired by the British Bluebird K3 hydroplane boat, which broke the world water speed record in 1937. The design of the special edition Phantom Drophead is intended to mirror that of a luxury boat.
The British manufacturer claims cutting-edge technology and materials never before seen on a Rolls-Royce will be used on the Waterspeed Collection. Further details are a little scarce but additional bespoke models will be launched later this year, the manufacturer has confirmed.
There is no official word on what engine the Waterspeed Collection will use but we can expect the standard 453bhp 6.75-litre V12 from the standard Phantom Drophead to be carried over. Further details will be announced in the coming months.
