UK’s best garages revealed

Most trusted garages in the UK announced by Motor Codes, with a winner set to be announced from the 20-strong shortlist next month

The race to be crowned Garage of the Year is down to the final 20 following a month-long voting process involving more than 13,000 customers. An outright winner will be selected from this shortlist next month at Auto Express’ own Car of the Year awards ceremony.

Conducted by Motor Codes, a Trading Standards-approved self-regulatory body set up to protect motorists, the competition asked drivers to submit an online review of their favourite main dealers or independent garages.

Any of the Code’s 8,000 recognised garages were eligible for nomination, with ten of the most trusted selected by region for each category.

It turned out to be a good year for SEAT in the franchised main dealer category – the VW Group brand had garages top the polls in Scotland, Northern Ireland, as well as the North East and South East.

“Everybody shops online these days and it’s no different when it comes to looking for a trustworthy garage,” said Chris Mason, Motor Codes managing director, as he explained the importance of Garage of the Year.

“By putting themselves in the spotlight and being open to review, Motor Codes garages are helping to boost confidence.  People can now make an informed decision about who to trust when it comes to spending on car servicing.”
