Subaru has released a teaser image of the upcoming Legacy, expected to arrive later next year. The all-new model will make its debut at the Chicago Motor Show later this month, with Subaru yet to confirm whether the model will fit into the brand’s UK lineup.
The teaser shot shows a slender and more stylish profile than that of the current model. The windscreen is also steeply raked with narrow A-pillars giving a more sporting appearance. A prominent crease along the side of the Legacy can also be made out, which leads to the wrap-around taillights.
The production version of the Legacy was previewed by a concept at the Tokyo Motor Show late last year. A spokesman from Subaru – who had seen the production version – told Auto Express the finish product would be ‘significantly smaller’ than the concept but adopt several cues from its design.
Engine options also remain unconfirmed but choices could include the 173bhp 2.5-litre four-cylinder and the turbocharged 250bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder motors. Power is also likely to be transmitted via four-wheel drive.
A full reveal will take place on February 6, ahead of a likely launch in early 2015.
