Vauxhall reveals the limited Black Edition Corsa, powered by a new 1.4-litre turbo engine

Vauxhall has revealed a new limited ‘Black Edition’ version of the Corsa, which also introduces Vauxhall’s 1.4-litre Turbo with 118bhp to the Corsa line-up for the first time.

The new engine becomes the second most powerful non-VXR offering in the line-up, just behind the 128bhp 1.7-litre CDTi diesel engine. Vauxhall claims it will allow the Corsa to accelerate from 0-60mph in 9.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 121mph. Fuel consumption stands at 51.4mpg.

Black Edition models are based on the Corsa Limited Edition but receive new 17-inch alloy wheels and a black grille bar. Dark headlights, tinted windows and a bodykit complete the additions.

Inside, matt chrome air vents, sports seats and silver stitching mark out the Black Edition.

Only 500 units of the Corsa Black Edition will be produced, with prices starting from £15,995.

Seems a bit out of date when Ford have a 1.0 engine with 123bhp.

I think vx are missing a trick hear by not puting the 1.4 turbo 140 into this little car. VW/AUDI will be puting a similar engine into the polo & A1 ......fiesta will be getting the 1.0 (125)

The standard 1.4 produces about 100hp..

At the end of the day it's still a Vauxhall! They never could make a decent car. Probably never will.

These will be driven by the boy racers, at high speed & tail gating other road users, easy to spot & remember to report to the police for dangerous driving.

What's wrong with you people? You need to make negative comments to satisfy the voids in your life? Can't we just accept a simple piece of info without judging it? Nothing for but nothing against the once British brand, Vauxhall is giving us decent cars, nicely designed and quite capable on the road. Isn't this the second best selling car today? Let's all grow up.

You took the words out of my mouth!
The Corsa is crying out for a decent (non-VXR) petrol engine and the 140ps 1.4T is the ideal candidate, no point to having the 120ps.

Is it me or does the Corsa need replacing really soon? Seems so dated now.
