Yeah like the look of this GTC...
Not too fussy, arrogant or pompous looking like some of its rivals from France and Germany, and obviously good value and a fine all rounder by what the motor journo's are saying...
Yeah I think GM have got a very competent car here with its GTC...
A real 'keeper'!
Would still like to see a Monza or a Manta at some point...
Overall I like the look of this Astra. I think the wheels look circa 1980's but I could live with that. Would also have been nice to see twin tailpipes to balance up the rear, as most manufacturers seem to do nowadays. But all in all would I buy one...yes!
Four words..DPF filter, EGR valves.
I won't be buying.
I m a bit confused. The article praises the GTC's looks, driving dynamics, the suspension and body work. So where is the fifth star getting lost at? From other articles I understand this car handles even better than the Ford or VW so I 'm still trying to figure it out. Is it because its a Vauxhall?
Good question. There's so many thinks that are great about the GTC and Paul thinks it's the best car Vauxhall have ever built. But it lacks that little something that makes the VW Scirocco special. We'll be driving it in the UK soon and we'll review it again then.
Thanks for your comment!

Looks brilliant inside and out and is supposed to drive the socks off the competition.
I'm somewhat confused by the "it lacks that little something that makes the VW Scirocco special" Rhian? To me, the Scirocco is only slightly less grey than the other dreary VW offerings.
Is it because you are too far off on that island (?) but the car AE reviewed is 100% German. You can put any logo on it, it can belong to any US mother corporation, it was developed in Germany (hence its remarkable looks and quality). See it and enjoy it as such...
The Astra GTC deserves to be a success in the UK. Vauxhall’s engineers have spent a lot of time tailoring the ride and handling package to our roads, and the result is a car that drives with poise and control – as long as you go for the optional FlexRide dampers – and proves Vauxhall can compete with the best in class when it comes to handling. It’s a talented all-rounder, too, with great looks, an efficient engine and much more interior and boot space than key rivals such as the pricier VW Scirocco.
