Chrysler has only released teaser images of the all-new Viper so far, but now we've seen how the car will look, courtesy of computer giant Microsoft, ahead of its New York Motor Show debut. The new Viper will be available to download in Xbox 360 game Forza Motorsport, and these screen shots reveal how the new muscle car will look.
As before, the Viper has a typically bold look, with a long, low bonnet, pumped up wheelarches and a cockpit set back over the rear axle. But the car's curves that have been sharpened up, with elongated headlamps a gaping front air intake and trademark bonnet scoop. At the rear, the duck-tail spoiler is another familiar styling cue from previous models.
Engine details have yet to be revealed, but rumours suggest that a revised version of the 8.4-litre V10 from the last Viper with the addition of Fiat’s MultiAir valve timing set-up is likely to be used. This is estimated to have around 700bhp in top spec, and will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Unlike past Vipers, this model won't be sold with Dodge or Chrysler badges. Instead, it will be marketed under Chrysler's Street Racing Technology banner, and be called the SRT Viper when it goes on sale in the US later this year.
There has been no conformation on whether the Viper will officially be sold in the UK.
