McLaren is to offer every 12C owner a free Technology Upgrade, which will bring the supercar more inline with the manufacturer’s latest model, the 650S. The upgrade includes an uprated infotainment system, reversing camera, DAB radio and aerodynamic tweaks, which will be available from June.
When the 650S was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, McLaren halted 12C production to meet demand for the new model. Having already received a six month order bank, the British manufacturer has announced production of the 12C will not restart, ending three years of production.
McLaren has stated they did not want to limit vehicle developments to new customers, therefore will offer tech found on the new 650S to existing 12C owners. The package includes new Active Aero software, a drag reduction system feature and an updated Android-based infotainment system.
A reversing camera and DAB radio can be fitted as a cost option, but depending on model year there may be restrictions. 12C customers will be contacted by McLaren about the upgrades available, with further information obtainable from local McLaren dealers.
