2018 Mitsubishi Shogun Sport: UK prices and specs revealed

Shogun Sport returns to the UK this spring with a £36,905 starting price tag

Mitsubishi has announced prices and specs for its new seven-seat Shogun Sport SUV, which is available to purchase this April with a starting price of £36,905. It follows the new Eclipse Cross into showrooms.

The Shogun Sport sits between the Outlander and standard Shogun in Mitsubishi’s 2018 line-up. It’s based on the platform of the new L200, and the pick-up roots are visible side-on and inside, with a similar ride height and door profile, plus a cabin inspired by the firm's pick-up. A large rear overhang translates into seven full-size seats and a large boot, serving up to 1,488 litres of load space with the rear seats folded flat.

It’s equipped with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder diesel engine producing 178bhp and 430Nm of torque, sending power to a selectable all-wheel-drive system via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Features such as hill descent control, trailer assist and hill start assist are equipped as standard.

Just two trim levels are offered. The entry model is the Shogun Sport 3, priced from that entry-level £36,905 price tag. It gets leather seats, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and starter button, automatic LED headlights, taillights and daytime running lights, and an infotainment system fitted with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. A reversing camera is also standard fit, and is paired with rear parking sensors.

For £38,905, customers can opt for the Shogun Sport 4, which adds heated leather seats and a suite of driver assists, including a forward collision warning system, blind spot assist, and a 360-degree camera setup linked to the infotainment display. The Shogun Sport will be offered at Mitsubishi showrooms in April and comes with a five-year/62,500-mile warranty.
