Green Suzuki Splashes down

New entry-level Splash is greenest version yet

Suzuki Splash

22nd December 2008

SUZUKI is hoping to make a Splash with eco-minded drivers, with the release of one of its greenest models to date.

A new entry-level version of the Splash GLS city car will be powered by a petrol-sipping 68bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine. Low emissions of 120g/km mean it will attract an annual road tax bill of only £35, plus it promises to return frugal fuel economy of 56mpg on the combined cycle, despite having air-con and heated mirrors as standard.

The interior will feature a three-spoke leather steering wheel with audio controls and an MP3 player connection, as well as six airbags and other safety measures including ABS, EBD and ESP. When the GLS 1.0 arrives later this month, prices will start at £8,350.
