Another British sports car maker is having a laugh... meet the Lotus Load Lugga - an Elise-based pick-up.

But don't be fooled - it is the start of April after all. "The 'Load Lugga' seeks to secure a slice of the growing market for sports car-derived pick-ups," says the company's 1 April press release. "Featuring a pull-start, supercharged diesel and four-wheel drive, the pick-up has a useful 5kg payload. The new Lotus will be equally at home carrying a small bag of sugar as a polystyrene surfboard."

Additions include carbon-fibre roof rails, aluminium bull bars and off-road tyres that raise ground clearance to four inches. Hmm, yes...
