Tall storey for UK city parkers

Planners have hit the heights in a bid to find more parking space, with the largest robotic car park in the UK.

When it's finished next month, owners will drive through a Victorian courtyard and on to a modern platform. Their car is then taken to the nearest space on a 10-storey shelving system with room for 84 vehicles. The site is for residents of luxury flats in Liverpool. Each has a keyfob which tells the lift to return their motor to ground level. More similar car parks are planned, some three times larger.
