There are two types of iDrive – an FM modulator that costs £65, and this hard-wired version. The £25 cradle comes in solid black or a clear finish, both backlit with blue LEDs, and you need to add a deck-specific wiring harness – expect to pay £10-£40, depending on your system. The iPod was charged and it retained all controls bar volume and tone. Wiring was easy, and while the finish of the bracket was a bit low-rent, we thought it was decent value. Our Recommended choice.
