2010-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

The car is vey reliable and has never had a fault. Being a diesel engine the performance is seriously effected by the ambiant air temperature; at 0deg c short journeys 32mpg, 10 degc 38 mpg, 20degc 44 mpg. motorway 75 mph 42 @ 0 degc, and 48 @ 20deg c. basically the performance is nowhere near the manufacturers figures, on which we base our decisions when buying a new vehicle. however, performance is good acceleration etc confusing....!

Apart from the blower fan 2nd speed not working and the clutch pedal rubber coming off (which had to be replaced), nothing else has gone wrong. Also O/S/R door protector (plastic) trim appears to be loose & the fuel consumption (according to the on-board computer) has dropped from 38 mpg to 33 mpg (despite keeping to variable servicing schedule done by the main dealer) but this could be due to more town running than previously.

Just a brilliant car, after taking all factors into consideration ! a combination of many points that i was looking for , not just the ability to burn off everyone in sight , and corner like a F1(a la Clarkson) though my 2.0 dci 160 is ample in that department. It is just that after having tried all the alternatives, this car ticked all the boxes for me. so far not been disappointed with my choice !

Very practical, easy to drive with excellent view. Good handling and surprisingly quick for an mpv. Seating for 7 is very tight and only good for short journeys or small people in the rear pop-up seats. Good load capacity and plenty of useful storage areas. Economy satisfactory at 30 mpg all round. Tyres expensive and limited manufacturers.

I bought it because it was the measure other similar types of car maker used to judge their product against, and it has lived vup to that mark.
It is not the best in any one feature, but overall it is very difficult to find a better vehicle for the task it was designed for.

Dire accelaration when pulling out at junctions and roundabouts. Official figures 61 mpg, real mpg is 36, costs more than my 2 litre ford galaxy, to say that this car has low rolling rsistance tyres a 1.5 diesel engine the mpg is rubbish to say the least.

2004-reg Diesel, Owner for less than a year

Good but has cut out a couple of times, once at around 10mph and the other at around 50mph. When changing the cambelt it also needed a new cam pulley and engine mount at around ł100 each, offset by good mpg and low tax.

2010-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Over 2 years ownership, not one problem. With 58mpg, we normally spend about ł70 on fuel each month but apart from that, no repairs etc have been required. just fitted 2 new tyres to front axle (done over 32,00 miles).

Had little things fail - boot struts, electrics. Car design has made parts much more expensive than necessary. fuel economy should be more importyant to designers.

Only failed to start once as I left some lights on overnight and had a flat battery. Apart from mot and servicing I keep an eye on other sundry items every week.

When I chose it, it was because every other car at the time used it as a bench-mark. That has proved to be a very good way to make a decision.
