The Elise S Cup features substantial changes to the front splitter, diffuser and rear wing, which add up to an increase in downforce of over 1500% at maximum speed compared to the standard Elise S. That means the Elise S Cup can reportedly tackle the Lotus test track over 3 seconds faster than the standard Elise S.
Lotus is aiming the car at driving enthusiasts who are looking for an even more effective racer at competition-level track days.
This means the car has also been fitted with a full rollover hoop along with wiring harness modifications to allow a fire extinguisher system and electrical kill switch to be retrofitted. The Elise S Cup is also finished with matt black detailing on the diffuser, rollover hoop and fixed hard top roof. Additional sound insulation and a radio are also available as options.
Lotus claims the Elise S Cup is the most track-focused roadgoing Elise yet. Customers can also add FIA approved race seats, four-point safety harnesses or even satin black Motorsport Elise Cup R alloy wheels.
The options list means that the Elise S Cup can be transformed into a full track racer or be kept as more of a road car depending on the buyer's preference.
