Audi RS5, BMW M6 Coupe/Convertible???? i wonder who puts the names of these cars down....

VW Golf contender for Design of the Year!? ROFL.

Other than that, I think it'd be reasonable for any of them to pick up that award taking into account their price tags.

Among the World Car Design of the Year award nominees is the Volkswagen Golf. Why not?

All the other cars in the list look different from the outgoing models. Golf looks exactly the same.

Thus Golf not only qualifies as a nominee. It also stands a good chance to win this august award.

Excuse me for being a cynic, but shouldnt the world car of the year nominations at least include the current best selling car in the world, the Ford Focus, it must be doing something right if its being bought by more people than any car on the list, and as for the design awards, the Vanquish, whilst beautiful, is impossible to tell from any other Aston Martin, unless you are a real petrol head, the Jaguar F Type has not been as well received as expected and to some as a soft top, its a let down, Range Rover, size of a transit van, with dodgy gills on the doors to try and disguise the size, and the Golf, blandness personified.

The current Ford Focus has already had its chance as a nominee......last year!

Is the World Car of the year ever also the best selling car later on? if not then either the judges dont know what buyers want, or buyers are not buying whats good for them. We all know who the manufacturers should be pleasing most.
