Apple iPhone’s hands-free software will be controlled via Bluetooth

Chevrolet has announced that it will integrate Apple’s Eyes Free Siri functionality into the latest Spark models, making it the first car maker to offer full Siri integration.

Siri is Apple’s ‘intelligent personal assistant’ available on phones running the latest iOS 6 software. Siri can control an iPhone’s functions or be used to search for information held online, but until now it hasn’t been possible to fully control Siri through a car’s infotainment system.

Chevrolet’s MyLink system will be the first with full Eyes Free Siri integration, allowing users to play music, read or write texts, use maps or make a phone call via voice control.

However, other car makers are hot on Chevrolet’s heels, with Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes and Toyota all set to offer Eyes Free integration with their infotainment systems in the near future.

Oh boy. If the nav system is Apple Maps...

LOL fell under my chair laughing, Apple has started to go down hill a bit since Jobs popped his clogs. Can't believe Apple would release such a an half baked unfinished product.

Has Siri become Jock accent compatible yet?

Still it won't do Chevy any harm in intograting Apple in its cars, l certainly would put Chevy right on top of my shortlist for doing it, and if came down to a Chevy with it and lets say a Ford Fiesta without it, l would go with Chevy Spark/Apple as l am sucker for Apple personally..

But its all down to personal taste/choice at the end of the day, the Galaxy is a superb smart phone, it certainly must be giving Apple a few nightmares these days, and the Spark is a great little car, Cruze was world WTCC champion this year, so they must be giving Ford a few sleepless nights.

Sales are up at Chevy this year in Europe and bucking the trend, things will only get better as Chevy will start to register on a lot for radars with hands free MyLink Apple on board its cars, it pushes the whole Chevy brand name more upmarket.
