It’s all-clear on new Meriva

Here is the picture which shows that Vauxhall’s new Meriva is a ‘glass’ act!

As you can see from the spy shot above, the mini-MPV will be fitted with a panoramic roof that stretches all the way over the rear passengers’ heads – just like the original Flextreme concept from the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The innovative ‘FlexSpace’ fold-flat seating system will also help to make the most of the Meriva’s cabin, allowing it to be transformed from a five-seater to a single-seater and everything in between.

Meanwhile, the first clear shot of the front of the Opel-badged car reveals it has the same pronounced grille, faired-in headlights and raised bonnet edges as the Flextreme.

Power is likely to come from a range of engines that mirrors those in the new Astra. This means we can expect to see a naturally aspirated 1.4-litre motor, plus a turbocharged 1.4-litre producing 140bhp. Four oil-burning units will be on offer, with power outputs ranging from 95bhp to 160bhp. The new Meriva will be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March next year.
