Subaru has only just released a teaser image of the upcoming Legacy, but images of the all-new model have surfaced online. Set to make its debut at the forthcoming Chicago Motor Show later this month, a full set of official images has leaked.
The sixth-generation model has been given a fresher look over the outgoing Legacy, with raked-back headlights inspired by the WRX and a more chiseled front end. A three-bar grille replaces the one-piece arrangement on the current model and larger air intakes in the front bumper house new fog lights. Viewed in profile and the Legacy adopts a more steeply raked windscreen for a sportier look.
There’s a more modern and upmarket look to the interior, with an updated steering wheel and redesigned instrument cluster along side an new integrated touchscreen. Brushed aluminium and wood trim also frame the underside of the dash and lower section of the centre console.
The Japanese manufacturer previewed the sixth-gen Legacy at the Tokyo Motor Show last year with the Legacy concept. Sadly, very few styling cues and design elements appear to have made their way on to the production model.
Engine options were not revealed along with the leaked images but we can expect the 173bhp 2.5-litre four-cylinder and turbocharged 250bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder motors to be available from launch. A full reveal will take place on February 6, ahead of a likely launch in early 2015.
