Alfa Romeo has released a teaser image of its 4C sports car, ahead of its Geneva Motor Show debut

Alfa Romeo has revealed the first official teaser for the 4C sports car, which is expected to be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

The concept version of the 4C was first revealed in Geneva during the 2011 show, so it’s a sort of homecoming for the new Alfa Romeo model.

That first concept also gives us our best guess at what we can expect from the production car, with the styling expected to remain pretty much intact, including the stylish alloys shown in this teaser.

Underneath the curvy bodywork, we’re expecting a mid-mounted 1.7-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering about 296bhp to the rear wheels.

A focus on keeping the weight as low as possible should see the 4C weighing a little over 1,000kgs – the original concept claimed a kerbweight of just 850kgs.

The 4C will go on sale in the UK towards the end of this year, carrying a price-tag of around £40,000.

I am so excited for an Alfa comeback, especially looking forward to the SUV!

This looks fantastic.
Really looking forward to the MX5/Spider twins in 2014.

Will this be manufactured in Norfolk? It reminds me of an Exige, but if Lotus built it, they wouldn't have added 150kg of flab compared to the original concept.

If it does look anything like this it will be another piece of Alfa beauty. Wonder if the young ones would mind catching the train?!?!
I wish they would hurry up with another mid size saloon though!

Alfa Romeo! What a beauty! Roll on SUV.
