The production version of the Alfa Romeo 4C has been revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, two years after the original concept car of the same name made its debut.
Power comes from the same 1.75-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that's used in the Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde, but with an extra 5bhp taking the total to 237bhp. The only gearbox option is Alfa’s twin-clutch TCT transmission, controlled by paddles on the steering wheel.
The 0-62mph sprint takes 4.5 seconds, while top speed is ‘more than 250kph’ (155mph). Alfa’s DNA switch, which allows you to switch between different driving modes – Dynamic, Natural and All-Weather – has also been improved with a new Race mode that also activates a G-meter on the central display.
Prices for the standard 4C are yet to be announced, but are expect to be start at slightly below £50,000. The full UK spec and prices will be revealed in the coming months. First deliveries of the 4C will begin in September.
