Classy Passat a golden wonder

Fans of VW’s new Passat coupé are in for a treat. This special-edition Gold Coast version (above) has been unveiled at the Pebble Beach show in California.

The newcomer includes a tri-coat paint finish featuring a mix of gold, brown and silver tones, bespoke leather sports seats, a full bodykit and 19-inch alloys.

It will use VW’s 280bhp 3.6-litre V6, mated to a six-speed DSG double-clutch gearbox, and add £2,000 to the price when it goes on sale in the US. There are no current plans to sell it here.
