Having never been higher than 75th in Driver Power, the previous Fiesta’s 89th in 2009 isn’t a wholly unexpected result.

Despite the model being such a big seller, it’s a little curious that so many owners lack enthusiasm about their cars.

Decent scores for running costs and handling help brighten the Fiesta’s results sheet, but low votes for comfort and brakes undo much of the good work.

Having made progress in 2008, Ford has dropped back again this year. It’s 12 places higher than rival Vauxhall, and its cars are rated for practicality and handling. Yet owners’ main gripe is reliability.

A great little B-road blaster, but also a great long distance commuter. I have done many 300 mile journeys, and wish i could have been driving longer. I have also overtaken manier cars of greater power, and i have proven that the little fiesta is great at cornering by making bigger engined and faster cars look like a tiny dot in my rear view mirror. the suspension is firm but it doesnt break your spine everytime you hit a bump. i also have two children and they sit in the back with no discomforfort at all, so the new fiesta, in my opinion, is the best all round car on the market.

The Styling is dated a box, this describes it best,handling, steering positive holds the road very well. Down side the drivers door fills up with water in heavy rain,the door shell,its happened to friends of mine fiestas,but I would buy again,great car, great comfort on long journeys and I have had fiestas before very dated ,but Ford has got its axt right with the new 2009 version,however I am waiting to buy a Rs if ford put it out on the market. Well done ford.

It's a Fiesta... what more needs to be said (but if I'm honest (and please don't tell anyone I said this!) it's not half as bad as I thought it was going to be - and not as bad as the rattly wreck my sister used to drive when I was teenager many moons ago...)

i have enjoyed the fiesta but need a slightly bigger car due to work as drive a lot to visit different sites. the fiesta has been a wee work horse but feel the emissions at 158 make it unpracticle for me now. but dont regret car and it has been a good car.

Good value for money. Practical size and power for town driving. Easy parkability. Basic, uncomplicated spec aids reliability - little to go wrong electrically, Good availability and price of spares. Reasonable insurance costs for under-25 driver.

So far so good. Use as a run around and have been very pleased so far, just changed front tyres for the first time and service. apart from petrol it costs about £600 a year to run inc tax and insurance not bad ha.

Shame that with the new model they did not change the name as it is agreed that the new Fiesta is as big a leap forward as the original Focus was and they dropped the name Escort for that

A bit noisy. Not good for long runs. Superb engine. It has more than paid for itself, and just keeps going, with minimal repairs and maintainance. I will be very sorry when it goes.

The ride is awful. The seats are also uncomfortable. Any long journey is torture. It is ok in town, but not economical.
It appears to be well made (in Germany).

Uncomfortable seats. Seats don't reach the pedals enough for smaller people. Suspension not so good.
