It's official! Mitsubishi is aiming to inject fresh excitement into the look of the new Mitsubishi Outlander with a dramatic facelift, inspired by the "jet fighter' design of the firm's succesful Lancer.
Set to make its official debut at the New York Motor Show on 8th April the model is described as a prototype, and is powered by a 3.0-litre V6.
To help improve the car's fuel efficiency, the model will also showcase a range of new technologies, including Idle Neutral Logic, that automatically shifts the gearbox into neutral when the car is at a standstill, so saving valuable fuel.
The car also features Mitsubishi's proven four wheel drive technology, and a new paint finish, called Diamond White.
There's no word on when these improvements are likely to come to the UK, however, it's thought the facelifted model could be on sale as early as January 2010, priced from £23,000.
