These shots show the road-going incarnation of Ford's aggressive looking Iosis-MAX concept from the Geneva Motor Show in March. Sold as the next generation C-MAX, the new car is a five or seven seater MPV looking to knock the Vauxhall Zafira off the top spot.
Under the camouflage is a sloping rear window and new front end featuring a trapezoidal grille. Clearly the new C-MAX has retained some of the good looks of the Iosis concept whilst still maintaining a versatile design with a large cabin and sliding rear doors.
Inside the cabin, reports suggest the inclusion of new high quality build materials and a reversing camera on flagship models. Meanwhile, under the bonnet the new C-MAX will be the first Ford to debut the new EcoBoost range which consists of smaller displacement engines with direct fuel injection and turbocharging to provide an economy boost without any loss in performance. The 180hp 1.6-litre EcoBoost from the Iosis concept could be lifted directly into the new C-MAX.
The car is scheduled to make its official debut at Frankfurt this month.
