The 444bhp Audi RS5 Cabriolet has made its public debut at Paris

This is the Audi RS5 Cabriolet, which has been unveiled at the Paris Motor Show.

As expected, the Audi RS5 Cabriolet is powered by the same 444bhp 4.2-litre V8 as the coupe. The Cabriolet completes the 0-62mph sprint in 4.9 seconds, 0.4 seconds slower than the RS5 coupe. Top speed is limited to 155mph, but an optional upgrade lifts this to 174mph.

The claimed average fuel consumption for the RS5 Cabriolet is 25.9mpg, 1mpg less than the coupe.

The RS5 Cabriolet features a seven-speed S tronic dual clutch gearbox as standard. Quattro four-wheel drive is also included, while buyers can opt for the rear sport differential, which helps improve cornering.

The body of the RS5 convertible sits 20mm lower than a standard Audi A5 Cabriolet. The canvas top can be opened and closed in 15 seconds and 17 seconds respectively, even when driving at speeds of up to 31mph.

Eight exterior colours are available, with four contrasting choices for the canvas roof – black, grey, red or brown.

To mark out the RS5 Cabriolet from the rest of the range, Audi has added xenon and LED headlights, 20-inch wheels, flared wheelarches, aggressive-looking front and rear bumpers and a carbon fibre bootlid spoiler. Ceramic brakes are optional.

UK prices will be announced when order books open later in the year. The RS5 Cabriolet arrives in Germany in early 2013, where it will cost from £70,154.
