A one-off gold Nissan GT-R will be auctioned in aid of the Usain Bolt Foundation

Olympic champion sprinter Usain Bolt has extended his tie-up with Nissan by helping to produce a one-off Nissan GT-R which will be auctioned for charity.

The gold Nissan GT-R is embossed with Bolt's signature and features interior fittings finished in real gold.

If you like the blinged up Usain Bolt GT-R, then you’ll need to bid for the car on eBay later this month. The money raised will go to the Usain Bolt Foundation, which aims to create opportunities for children and young people in Jamaica.

If you aren’t the lucky winner of the GT-R auction, Nissan has announced that the firm will build a limited-edition run of special Usain Bolt GT-R models, details of which will be announced at a later stage.

Usain Bolt does practice what he preaches, too. His current car is a special “Bolt GT-R” which has been specially tuned for the Olympic champion at Nissan’s proving ground near Oppama, Japan.

Nissan has given Bolt the title of "Director of Excitement", about which Bolt said: "Racing is my inspiration, and I want to help Nissan become an even more exciting brand for everyone."

Honourable cause. It seems strange that Nissan are taking car building advice from a sprinter though? Or is that just me.

No different to LR taking advice from Mrs Beckham

Good point actually!
