The Audi A8 has been facelifted and the luxury saloon now has a cleaner, smarter look while power has been boosted and four-wheel drive has been added.
The Audi A8 update showcases a fresh front end with sharper bumpers, a more pronounced grille and innovative MatrixBeam LED lights. At the back there are flatter trapezoidal twin exhausts, while a neat chrome strip joins the tail-light clusters together.
The entry-level 201bhp front-wheel-drive 3.0-litre TDI diesel has been scrapped, so with the exception of the hybrid model, all 2014 Audi A8s now get quattro four-wheel drive.
Engines have also been reworked to boost power and cut emissions. The 3.0 TDI is increased from 247bhp to 251bhp, with CO2 down 14g/km to 155g/km, whilst the 4.2-litre TDI V8 has 35bhp more power (380bhp) and 50Nm more torque (850Nm). Plus, the 4.0 TFSI petrol gets an extra 15bhp to cut its 0-62mph time by two-tenths to 4.5 seconds.
Other changes include a new boot layout, giving 10 litres more space, while tech boasts active lane keep assist and auto parking with 360-degree cameras.
The Audi A8 price remains undisclosed, but the car is due here in January.
The facelifted Audi A8 will be displayed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show alongside the Audi Quattro Sport concept.
