A Jeep Wrangler modified by Bradford-based automotive fashion house A. Kahn Design is currently enjoying the silver screen limelight alongside Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise.
Developed by Kahn’s Chelsea Truck Company expedition vehicles department, the bespoke 4x4 was deemed suitably robust and futuristic for use in Edge of Tomorrow, a sci-fi thriller that hit cinemas at the end of May.
The film has so far received largely positive reviews, with the Jeep Wrangler Chelsea Truck Company CJ300 LE also making a good impression on viewers thanks to a number of additions over the standard Khan Jeep Wrangler Sahara 2.8 Diesel it’s based on.
These include a ‘volcanic’ satin finish, Kahn wheels, revised brake callipers, as well as privacy glass, cross hair headlights and a distinctive four-slot Chelsea Truck Company front grille to complete the Kahn-badged look.
You’re not likely to miss the Kahn Jeep Wrangler if you go and see the film, particularly as the makers used it during one of the time-loop scenes that’s central to the plot.
Tom Cruise’s character attempts to roll under the passing vehicle, only for an off-screen thud to reveal the unfortunate outcome. In true Groundhog Day style however, he is able to return for a second go, timing it perfectly on this occasion.
