For customers who can’t wait for the flagship Abarth, Fiat has launched a warm Grande Punto. The T-Jet 120 Sporting features a 1.4-litre turbo, does 0-60mph in 8.9 seconds and returns 42.8mpg.

The car gets a bodykit, 17-inch alloys, air-con, sports seats, leather steering wheel and chrome exhaust. Prices start at £11,995 for the three-door model, with the five-door at £12,595.

Meanwhile, Fiat has axed the slow-selling Idea supermini-MPV from its UK range. Less than 1,000 found homes last year.
