The wraps are off Bentley’s fastest, most powerful production car ever!

Bosses have released this shadowy head-on ‘teaser’ shot of their Geneva Motor Show star. It’s labelled The Extreme Bentley, and the only fact we know at this stage is that it will run on E85 biofuel.

A video clip on the website www.extremebentley.com heralds it as the first FlexFuel variant from the Crewe maker. It also reveals a profile image that shows the model will be based on the Continental GT coupé.

The newcomer will hit at least 202mph – that’s what Bentley’s current fastest car, the 600bhp GT Speed, is capable of. How much quicker and more powerful it will be is set to be revealed at the Swiss exhibition in four weeks’ time.

Last year, Bentley announced its commitment to renewable fuels, which will be available across the range by 2012. A new powertrain that will boost economy by 40 per cent is due within the same timeframe.

The firm says this will cut its carbon dioxide emissions on a ‘well-to-wheel’ basis, although the impact on its actual on-the-road output is less clear. “We believe that bioethanol can become a sustainable, ethical energy alternative to fossil fuels,” claimed a spokesman.
