Porsche Boxster Speedster

Porsche may be hard at work developing an entirely new Boxster – but the current car is going out in style! This is a Speedster version, which gets a dramatic new look with a pair of roll hoops at the rear, just like the classic 911 Speedster of the Eighties and Nineties.

Porsche engineers have done their best to disguise the aerodynamic look with a fake rear roof section but look closely at these pictures and you can just make out the twin humps which run from the rear end to the driver and passenger headrests. In addition, the Speedster will also boast a lower windscreen and a modified canvas hood.

Power will come from same 299bhp 3.4-litre engine as the Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 special edition. Expect to see the new model at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
