The hottest Scirocco ever has just blown in! Volkswagen wowed visitors to the Bologna Motor Show with this striking concept car, called the Studie R.
Previewing a new performance flagship, it's really a roadgoing version of the GT24 racer and is likely to be badged R20T when it goes on sale in 2010. As we revealed in our R20T story recently, the Studie R concept car has a high performance 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 262bhp. The unit is a development of the same powerplant in Audi's S3.
Boasting an agressive bodykit with a deep front splitter, bold 19-inch alloy
wheels and a vast rear wing, it certainly looks the part – and this
concept also features red and green detailing on its white paintwork,
in a nod to the motor show’s host nation.
The Studie R also gets twin exhaust pipes, four-piston brake callipers and a sport suspension set-up while inside are black and white Nappa leather Recaro seats along with some carbonfibre trim.
