It is likely to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, but this teaser image – posted on Skoda's Facebook page – shows us what we can expect. The styling of the Spaceback will match the standard hatch up to the C-pillars, but from that point on it gets its own rounded estate shape.
The blacked-out section on the bootlid could possibly be part of a split-opening tailgate, for enhanced practicality.
Full details on the Spaceback have yet to be released, but the boot will improve on the hatch's 550-litre capacity. Our spies recently caught a disguised version of the Rapid Spaceback on test – which showed that the newcomer's load area will be substantially bigger than the car it is based on.
The Spaceback will get the same engine line-up as the hatch, and prices are likely to start at £13,500.
