The first teaser image of the all-new Toyota Aygo city car has been revealed before it makes its public debut in Geneva in two weeks time. At this early stage Toyota doesn't want to give too much away but an aggressive front end with a Lexus-style pinched front grille, and sharp headlights with LED daytime running lights, can clearly be seen.
As with the previous generation Aygo, the car has ben co-developed with the Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1. All three city cars will make their debuts at the Geneva Motor Show, although the only one we've seen so far is the Peugeot 108 - revealed in full yesterday.
The Peugeot will be offered as a fixed roof hatch, or a TOP! version with a peel back fabric roof, just like the Fiat 500C. It's not clear whether the Aygo will come in the same choice of bodystyles, but we can expect it share the majority of its other components with the 108.
That means a choice of 1.0 and 1.2-litre three-cylinder engines, all emitting under 100g/km, as well as a kerbweight of around 840kgs - 90kg less than the VW up! and Skoda Citigo. We'll bring you full details of the Aygo, and the Citroen C1, when they both break cover at the Geneva show on March 4.
