The revised S60 and XC60 will arrive in showrooms later this year, along with the V60 Plug-in hybrid, before Volvo gears up to release an new XC90 in 2014 that will be the first car to use Volvo’s all-new modular platform.
As these spy pictures show, the revised S60 will retain the existing car's roofline and doors but will get a new flatter grille and headlamp combination, inspired by the Volvo Concept You revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011.
These images of the S60 show high intensity discharge headlamps through the camouflage, too, with upturned edges and a high nose similar to those of the Concept You. At the rear, there's a new bootlid, bumper and taillights.
Inside, Volvo’s latest On Call app will be available as an option, allowing drivers to monitor journeys and check the car’s fuel level from their smartphone. Tweaks to the current engine range will improve efficiency and running costs.
The successful XC60 will also be given a facelift that includes tweaks to the front-end, interior and engine line-up.
Prices will remain largely unchanged, with the S60 starting from around £24,000 and the XC60 starting at £28,000.
