Audi A1 spied undisguised

Facebook user snaps an undisguised production version of the A1 during photoshoot with Justin Timberlake.

Audi A1

By Jack Rix

17th December 2009

Looks like Audi is attempting to get N'Sync with younger customers! This amazing spyshot has been leaked onto Facebook by an unknown user showing what's believed to be the first undisguised image of the production-ready Audi A1.

Snapped during what appears to be a promotional video shoot, the front-end of the MINI-rival can be clearly seen. The similarity to the graffiti-style sketch in the teaser video (click here) is also uncanny.

If you were wondering why Justin Timberlake was being filmed alongside the newcomer, as the recently announced Audi A1 ambassador, Timberlake will be featured in a series of advertisements for the new supermini, which is set for a debut at the Geneva show in March.

I hope not. The headlight shape on earlier pictures was much better. These seem to have started to melt.

Much though Audi's are great car's, they forget that not everyone wants "bling" headlights. And for that reason I'll stay with Lexus for now.

You cannot compare an Audi and a Lexus.

According to the axiom "You get what you pay", the poor Audi A1 belongs to a lower class.

I mus say this, most Audis are technically very progressive and the S ones have a good acceleration capacity.

I would be very happy, if my Alfa 156 1,8 TS had an 1,75 lt Turbo Benzina 200 PS motor instead of the 1,8 TS 140 PS one.

Perhaps the AUDI S1 will be the car to look for. Small powerfull and hybrid with very low gas consuption

oh why the that blingy look ?

Audi rank snob factor over practicality. The reason why you want a small city style car is because its cheap, nippy and economical. Expensive designer headlights and flashy styling doesn't matter. If you have the money for a glitsy car that looked like a bigger Audi, you wouldn't buy an A1, you'd buy an S4

This car has to be "blingy" ... its competing with the Mini, Fiat 500, etc. People pay a premium for these cars for their "look", why else would someone buy the 500 over the substance-identical Ka, or why would someone by an A1 over an ordinary Polo?

Audi are trying just too hard. Its all bling, celebrities and no substance. Their cars are just boring to drive and the build quality is not as good as anyone says.....trust me, I have a new TT.

I'd just like to say that they aren't bling. If you are paying attention to cars and the new regulations then you would know that the L.E.D running lights will become standard on every car in Europe in 2 years time. They have to be at a certain height to comply with these regulations. I think they look alright actually, they look better on an Audi than any other car. And to comment on the blingy remarks, they are optional, and if you think about the audience that this car is appealing to, I think they would appreciate and like it. You may not like them, but if everybody liked every car in production, well that would be a boring world wouldn't it?

A small car it ain't! The Seat Aroza was a small car. That car is a medium sized lump.
