Audi has named its price for the A1! Order books for the eagerly anticipated supermini open in May when it will cost from £13,145 – around £400 more than the similarly-powered MINI One.
Three engines will be offered, two petrol and one diesel, including 86bhp 1.2 and 122bhp 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engines, plus a 105bhp 1.6-litre TDI diesel. A seven-speed twin-clutch S-tronic transmission is available solely on the 1.4 at an additional cost of £1,420.
Three trim levels will be available from the outset with the basic SE trim costing £13,145 in 1.2 petrol form and £14,180 in 1.6 diesel form. Start/stop and regenerative braking technology will be standard on all models in the range.
Sport trim boasts 16-inch alloys, sports suspension, bluetooth phone operation, front sports seats and a multi-function steering wheel as well as aluminium trim and front fog lights. Prices start from £14,945 for the 1.2 and rise to £15,345 for the 1.4 and £15,980 for the 1.6.
The range-topping S Line trim adds 17-inch ‘5-twin-spoke’ alloys, S Line sports suspension, half-leather seats and S Line badging to the Sport package. On the outside sports bumpers with rear diffuser, side skirts and a glossy black grille mark the S Line out from other models.
S Line trim starts at £16,460 for the 1.2, and increases to £16,860 for the 1.4, and £17,495 for the 1.6, with S-tronic transmission making the 1.4 S Line the most expensive model at £18,280.

One thing, may only be small, but an issue all the same. Audi, move that sodding arm-rest away from the Hand-Brake!
Doesn't do anything for me I'm afraid - but neither does Justin Timberland or whatever he's called.
Drop a 200BHP engine in it with decent styling mods, four wheel drive and a realistic price tag and I might re-consider.
Anybody know the dimension of this car? Judging by the internet advert the man standing next to it dwarfs it. It doesn't look very high, which will make access to the cab difficult for someone with a long back. I really like the way it looks but I hope it comes in other colours because that Red is hideous.
Its not a bad looking motor ,but if you put your hand over the front of the car the rear quater looks like a fiat 500 ....
..far better!
Given the choice and I won one in a competition I would sell it and get a Ford Focus or even the new MG is better looking than it
