08-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Excellent for single or couples but not large enough for family use. Very economical and fairly nippy. Car has been extremely reliable except for a broken boot lock which took a couple of attempts to fix. Vauxhall has come on leaps and bounds since my old viva back in '78. Styling has much improved and is quite funky given todays offerings. I would certainly replace with same but new Astra looks very sexy and will probably get my vote next January when I am due replacement. Overall I believe in Vauxhall and although not completely British, it's a close as I'm gonna get. Perhaps not the best marque to have parked on the driveway, and compared to my neighbours Volvos and BMWs not exactly up market, but my carbon footprint is far less than theirs, so c'mon Corsa you're the beast !!! Yes, I know I said beast ha, ha.

08-reg Petrol, Owner for Less than a year

Whilst I feel that my car is stylish, comfortable and practical - certainly a car I'm happy to admit I own - it has let me down in several respects. The biggest issue I have is the fuel economy, which is a far cry from the advertised MPG - as I travel a long distance for work, I am considering seeking a replacement car that is more economical. Another issue I have had is with the windscreen wipers - they seem to have a mind of their own - they often either go too far and hit the window pillar, or not far enough! I expect this to be an issue with the motor, but as of yet have not had an opportunity to have it looked in to.

08-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

When i first the car in March 08 i thought it was fantastic. The accelleration is brilliant, although the turbo whistle is a big annoying, looked great with the red seatbet and trims to the seats, and bodykit and the alloys are brilliant. Now nearly two years on, and this may be because my circumstances have changed, due to having a baby, its difficult to get car seat in and out the car (3 door) and also, the door handles inside are not made from proper metal, and the covering is coming off and cuts your hands to pieces. Due to the power of the car, the tax is soo expensive, as are the services.

2010-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

No ownership problems generally, but it has had 3 manufacturers recalls and a major unit replaced ( the heater box under the dashboard distorted - it was plastic!) under warranty. this took two days at the garage to remedy. I don't really use it enough to worry about running costs, as I am retired and only use it locally once or twice a week for shopping etc. generally though, it seems reasonable on petrol, and because of my age and status is not expensive to insure. the road tax is cheapish too.

Cost: 3/5
2008-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Less than 40k but looses coolant. aux drive belt snapped and egr valve replaced. also, my first ever blown headlight in 15 years :-). Insurance is low, fuel economy is good though not as good as a new small turbo petrol. this could be the hydraulic steering. new tyres are much cheaper than the run flats I used to have. the car has needed quite a few repairs so that ruins it - and to get these "savings" I have to put up with a diesel that sound very transit van.

Cost: 4/5
54-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Overall a good runner around town and doesn't perform to badly on the motorways. The ride is very hard and you find the whole car shaking over even the smallest of pot holes. I think that this is a common problem on the corsa due to poor suspension. A few good points are good fuel economy, around 40mpg and cheap tax so will stick with it at the minute, but will definately be looking for something with a bit more go and a smoother ride when the times right.

Cost: 5/5
08-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

It does what it promises.... economical driving (65+ mpg and yes, that's average for ALL driving), has reasonable acceleration (especially when overtaking), comfortable for one or two people (smallish in the back though), reliable and with good back up from the dealer, hasn'e let me down (yet), looks good and was a sensible alternative to my previous (astra sports) car. Thank you, Vauxhall !

2012-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

Main issue which I find with this car is that the screen is very prone to misting up for no reason while your driving! it is also slow to demist - deice. The car works better when running on super octine which means that instead of paying the ł1.29 pltr I pay ł1.34 which adds up. only upside is that I get better mpg from doing this so I think both cancel each other to some extent.

Cost: 4/5
2012-reg Diesel, Owner for less than a year

I get in it, I start it, and it goes. I can rely on it to go where ever I wantg faultlessly. I always try and plan my fill up trips to coincide with the cheapest filling stations around where I travel. the running costs of my car are muchly enharnced by the engine stop/start system when I drive around town. the cr also has a gear change indicator which I use regularly.

Cost: 5/5
2008-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Was 3 years old when purchased, nothing wrong so far other than heater motor, which was replaced under warranty. Relatively good mpg, smallish tank with good range, decent tyres are cheap at my sizes, pads etcc cheap too. service cheap, road tax about 130, low insurance group.parts from vauxhall expensive but widely available on internet cheaper, easy to fit.

Cost: 4/5
2012-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

- so far it has been very reliable, always starting and no issues with any electrics thus far- some squeaking noise however from the rear driver side when there are 4/5 people sitting in the car. - very very poor economy- I expected at least 38/39mpg, but I have driven 1000 miles, and I have never exceeded 30mpg about town and on dual carraigeways.

Cost: 2/5
57-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Basically a good car. Economical, comfortable, fairly quiet and easy to drive. The best so far of 8 superminis I have owned but the instrumentation could be clearer and lacks a temperature gauge. Auto dimming mirror takes too long to react. Why do all manufacturers insist on fitting their higher spec models with large alloy wheels and noisy tyres?

Cost: 5/5
2012-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

I cant say much as I have only owned it 6 months but within that 6 month (touch wood) nothing has gone wrong. Could be better on fuel economy I think. tax is only ł100 a year which is cheaper than my previous car and my insurance is also cheaper. as for part everything is under warranty for now so havent had to replace or pay for parts.

Cost: 4/5
1997-reg Petrol, Owner for 3 to 5 years

I have never had a problem with it, just the normal servicing of oil, filters and spark plugs. Its not thirsty for fuel, but does get better mpg on longer drives. the price of spare parts for the corsa are very well priced so easy to keep everything in good order, even cheap to buy the parts straight from vauxhall.

Cost: 5/5
2006-reg Petrol, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Never had any major problems with it. have had to replace a few minor, couple of major things but only at mot time and not every year. I dont get as good mpg as I used to when I first got the car but overall it's still better than it could be. For an entry level supermini, it performs well.

Cost: 3/5
08-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

For me, it has proved a very practical first car. Suspension on the Sxi model is hard and the tyres wear down very quickly. Economy is nowhere near what is stated either. However, it's got great build quality, looks good and has enough power for the motorway. An all round great car!

Cost: 2/5
2003-reg Diesel, Owner for more than 5 years

In nearly seven years only one breakdown which was caused by the demise of the alternator. Diesel is more expensive but I get 60mpg which is great. service costs have been above average. Its a 1.7 diesel engine so enough grunt but good efficiency as well.

Cost: 3/5
2012-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

Recently an front indicator bulb went. ł27 for a new one which you cannot buy except from vauxhall. Running costs are very reasonable. if vauxhall honour the life time warranty and service intervals of 1 year / 20k miles not alot should go wrong.

Cost: 5/5
2004-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Faultless, cheap motoring. annual service and mot with minor ball joints typically required . Huge after sales market for parts and accessories. now a popular model to find being broken for spares so even cheaper for body panels and the like.

Cost: 5/5
02-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

I am happy with the relatively low cost of running it.
Would get a four door next time. My son has just passed his test and it was not too expensive to put him on the insurance.
It has air conditioning and I would always go for this again.

Cost: 4/5
05-reg Hybrid/Alt, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Why did they stop offering the LPG conversion on new models, in my experience it has been well worth the extra cost of the option when I bought the car new.
Cheaper fuel, very low road tax, and does everything I need of it.

Cost: 5/5
52-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Overall it isn't too bad, serves the purpose and is economical on fuel which is essential as I'm driving over 600 miles a week. Have been some issues but these have been quickly repaired and relatively inexpensive.

Cost: 4/5
2012-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

The car is superb, it starts first time every time no matter what the weather!! never ever has failed. (well done vauxhaul). I can easily affor the running costs even tho I am living on state retirement pension.

Cost: 5/5
2010-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

Only one issue in six months of ownership, electrical blip into 'limp mode', occurs very rarely. If driven carefully, economy can be excellent, considering the size of the engine in what is a large 'supermini'.

Cost: 4/5
2012-reg Diesel, Owner for less than a year

Great in long distance, easy to maintain and great deals on services and check-up from my dealership I purchased from. overall a great car and a super buy. 76.5 mpg. which other diesel gives you that.

Other-reg Petrol, Owner for More than 5 years

I rate this Corsa with auto/man. gearbox as a very easy to drive, economical and has given me great service. My first trip for repairs was after 4 years of driving this was for a broken spring.

Cost: 4/5
2009-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

A couple of faults but sorted under warranty so not cost me anything. Very cheap to run. Missing a little bit more power, drop the revs out of torque band and you have no performance at all.

Cost: 5/5
2012-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

Always starts first time and gets me from a to b with no trouble. warm and comfortable to drive. Very economical to run, especially important owing to the number of miles that I travel in it.

Cost: 5/5
2011-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

The economy of this so-called ecoflex model is no better than my previous non-ecoflex corsa, and nowhere near the claimed 78mpg combined average. I had expected to get nearer 70mpg overall.

Cost: 3/5
2012-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

Not had any issues. Expensive to fill up with v power every time. only really get ~240 miles to the tank. tax this year is ł215. expensive tyres. insurance is quite expensive too.

Cost: 3/5
2012-reg Diesel, Owner for less than a year

The car is fine but the dpf (diesel particle filter) is not, it needs constant attention! or the car will breakdown! The costs are ok, but I would hope for better mpg around town.

Cost: 4/5
52-reg Petrol, Owner for More than 5 years

Overall, not bad. It's a pity the alternator went after 3 years from new. Apart from that. Cheap to insure and economical. But no exceleration at all, 5 gear was disappointing

Cost: 4/5
1998-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Very good, only minor wear & tear replacements. Older car so not as fuel efficient but a small engine so fairly cheap to run. a basic car so only simple mechanical failures.

Cost: 4/5
2009-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Had a few problems which it has had to go back to the dealer for but has never broken down. Mpg is not as good as my old corsa 1.2 but parts etc is cheap and easy to get.

Cost: 3/5
08-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

very pleased on the whole, acceleration is superb, economy is what I expected, suspension is very firm, when driving I find myself looking for the smooth parts of the road!!

Cost: 3/5
2002-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

No serious breakdowns. acceptable mechanical failures (suspension spring main one) considering age of vehicle. Doesn't drink fuel too much and parts have been cheap.

Cost: 5/5
2009-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Never had any probelms with it apart from a flat tyre, but it is still quite new. Small car so cheap to run. Again, small car, small engine, so not the best! .

Cost: 4/5
2004-reg Petrol, Owner for more than 5 years

The only time its broken down was due to fuel contamination causing the pre cat sensor to fail. Cheap to run done 100k only with minor repairs and sercising.

Cost: 2/5
2012-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

Always works as intended. Manufacturers mpg figures are way higher than I can achieve and parts from a main dealer are expensive although they are quality.

Cost: 4/5
2012-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

Brilliant little runner never let me down even in very cold weather or slippery conditions. Its an eco type so its really cheap to run and maintain.

Cost: 4/5
